Born from the collaboration between Simone Piva and Elisa Ossino, Tourner la Carte is a monobloc kitchen that transforms with exceptional dynamism of forms and functions into a complete system of washing and sculpture.
The design’s extraordinary innovation lies in the ability to move and hide the induction cooktops and washing areas, effectively shifting between moments where the cooking zone can be arranged at will—thanks to the induction tray that can be removed from its compartment—and situations where the washing areas are repositioned according to personal preference.
The workspace is thus completely redesigned, to the point that the cooktop can be extracted and used outdoors. This remarkable versatility, the result of Simone Piva’s research into designing appliances and tailor-made furniture with a high degree of customization, combines with Elisa Ossino’s work, which focuses on translating this strong trait of dynamism into geometric lines and patterns.
The three dimensions of the compact block suggest an intervention of printed graphics on wood, creating on the exterior a sequence of images conceived to make the viewpoint from which this sculptural volume is observed extremely dynamic. It inhabits space with its transformative personality, ineffable as the functions it conceals, revealing only a system of shifting lines and signs, with an illusionistic touch hidden behind the front of its block.
Tourner la Carte was presented during Fuorisalone 2019.
